Balebe is a lifestyle brand committed to preserving the art and practice of beading to promote creativity, healing and community building. We offer workshops, individual sessions, training and handcrafted beaded jewelry.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We believe that beading is a healing modality as well as a sacred practice. Beading is both personal and communal and it is elevated when shared among others, especially women. Our creative experiences provide a space and opportunity for
creating, healing and laughter.
OUR FOUNDER
Bahati A. L. Benjamin,
Founder & Practitioner Trainer
Bahati is a researcher, dancer, beading practitioner, entrepreneur, mathematician, wife and mom.
Bahati was introduced to beading as a child at NCDC (New Concept Development Center) in Chicago, IL.
Our name "Balebe" was inspired by our founder,
Bahati Akao Lett Benjamin.
She has been creating waistbeads and beaded handcrafted jewelry since 1999.

Many of our in-house signature designs are mathematically inspired and feature symmetrical patterns as well as bold color designs. Our approach to beading involves color therapy, mathematical patterns to align with intention setting and artistic expression.

Our Materials
At Balebe, beads are a precious resource. We are honored to host one of the largest collection of seed beads in New England. We also offer a wide variety of wood, clay, ceramic and porcelain beads in all shapes, sizes and finishes.
